CUSTOM MODIFICATIONS

Modifications:

  • We modify many factory knives, and customs as well. There is not much we cannot do. It is difficult for us to lay out a pricing structure here since every knife is different, and people personalize them in such varied ways. We have included just a couple examples of the kind of work we often do. We also included a starting price range for the simpler and more common work to help you get an idea of how much our shop work costs. If you want to do more than one mod at a time we offer a price break, you don't pay 100% for both services since the same shop time and processes are used across many of our mods. The same goes for multiple knives when regarding return shipping prices in most cases. We generally have a two week turn around time on custom work.

All you have to do to get the process started is mail us your knife and include a explanation of what you want done. If you don't see examples here of what your looking for or just have any questions feel free to contact us and we will be happy to help.

The Clip Swap

  • We are now offering our clip modifications to our web customers. Moving clips like the Emerson CQC-8 right-hand-to-left-hand swap pictured below start around $20-25. The simplicity of the Emerson design and the lack of contours makes the clip swap a quick and straight forward process. More extensive jobs like the Benchmade 761 tip-up-to-tip-down swap below will start around $60-$65. For the Benchmade, the clip had to be modified, a new lock-stop fabbed, and all bead blasted to match. Please feel free to visit the contact us page if you have any further questions and need to get a hold of us.

Bead Blasting

  • We offer bead blasting services for certain folders. In the case of the ZT 301 pictured below, once pocket wear sets in, the coated titanium scale of your edc starts to show age. By stripping the coating off, the exposed titanium gives a clean, refreshed look, as well as a little bit of uniqueness. The clip was bead blasted to match, just for good measure. Please feel free to visit the contact us page if you have any further questions and need to get a hold of us.

Reprofiling

  • Profile changes to the blade, such as changing a drop point to a clip point or adding a choile, like the Spyderco Endura pictured below start around $15. Full regrind charges will vary depending on the extent, and difficulty, of the modification, but generally start around $20. Handle re-profiling charges will run a bit more depending on the handle materials. The reprofiled handle on the Benchmade Contego pictured below runs about $25-$30. Etching

  • Click here for more information, and examples of blade etching. Visit the contact us page if you have any questions and need to get ahold of us.

"Build Your Own" Modification

  • Most of our modifications can be stacked onto one knife. It's not a problem if you want a 'pocket hook', a tanto reprofile, and an etch all on the same blade. In the example below, a customer wanted an etch pattern, a tanto reprofile, and a top edge onto his ZT 560. It all worked out no problem. The other example below is from the local 8th Forward Surgical Team, who had a set of ZT's modified with etches, 'pocket hooks' and "depth gauges" cut into the spines of the blades. Please feel free to visit the contact us page if you have any further questions and need to get ahold of us.
