Yeah, you heard that right: It's better and more affordable than its predecessor. Let's get into the changes: The blade is now Bohler M390MK, Microtech's proprietary steel; the pocket clip is milled titanium with a ceramic ball; the chassis is styled differently, resulting in improved ergonomics; it has standard Torx hardware for field stripping; and, most significantly, the internals have been stripped and redone, resulting in some of the easiest, smoothest OTF action on the market. Aside from the internal changes, milled grooves under the X-Button contribute to the easy operation, reducing friction and breaking apart lint and other debris. People love the Combat Troodon because it's a big, hard-hitting beast of an OTF knife, and the Gen III version is still all that, but with the value cranked up to eleven.
