This classic knife is just plain cool. It is not automatic opener - not a switchblade. In fact, it is the antithesis of a switchblade! It retracts automatically, but you need to manually push the blade out. This is a classic example from the 90's when Boker still made these in their home factory in Germany. The handle is made of fiberglass reinforced nylon, and the stainless steel blade can be retracted into the cavity with one hand. To engage the blade, you simply push the handle scale to the side and slide the push button upwards; push the scale back over to lock in place. The blade retracts with lightning-fast speed by pushing the handle scale over.
