Cattaraugus WWII 225Q Quartermaster 6" Fixed Blade / Stacked Leather / Satin 1095 Cro-Van ( Pre Owned )
Product Details

Cattaraugus, although now defunct, was a prolific manufacturer of cutlery starting in the 1880's and spanning all the way to their closing in the mid 1960's in upstate New York and was founded by Brown Champlin and William Case (who later founded Case brand knives). During the peak of WWII Cattaraugus Cuttlery contracted with the US government to make their own take on the now famous Ka-Bar. Featuring a thicker and taller blade made from 1095 Cro-Van (harder wearing than standard 1095) with a stout reinforced and hammer faced pommel for smashing. The 225Q was dubbed the "Quartermaster" which today the name sake is still debated by internet pundits around the world. The 225Q was only manufactured and issued to US troops during WWII and was discontinued at the end of the war.

This specific example is a fantastic user in good condition. The knife pictured is the actual knife for sale.
