Based on custom knifemaker Marcin Slysz's design, the SpydieChef applies the user friendly ergonomics of a good chef's knife to a multi-purpose everyday carry folder. The gracefully curved blade offers a broad profile and a full-flat grind. It's made from LC200N steel, an ultra-corrosion resistant, nitrogen based steel that was developed by NASA. The handle consists of two titanium scales, outfitted with a Reeve Integral Frame Lock. A reversible deep-carry pocket clip adds a nice finishing touch to the design. This SpydieChef model has a satin finished blade and a gray titanium handle.

A word from the artist:

I was born and raised in New England, so heading to the beach for a day has been a thing I have loved for as long as I can remember. I wanted to make something that gave off that on-the-coast, nautical vibe while staying true to the roots of my colorful, vibrant, and often gory artwork. The show-side scale is adorned with a portrait of an old fashioned deep-sea diver, serving up a plate of freshly sliced fish straight from the source. I assume most chefs who cook on a boat don't do so in full diving gear, but hey, suspension of disbelief or something right?

The clip side features a twist in this poor diver's story, where he ultimately became a meal for something bigger and more menacing lurking in the depths. Don't believe me? Check out that chunk missing out of his helmet along with his delicious brain-sushi floating gracefully in the sea. The knife as a whole has a bit of an "eat or be eaten" story to tell, and I found that fitting for a knife so lovingly named the "SpydieChef".

The coolest part about this knife is that it boasts a near rustproof construction, perfect for a person who spends a lot of time by the ocean (or the kitchen, which is more likely for most). This jumped out to me as the perfect canvas for something like this and as always, Northern Knives worked some absolute MAGIC to bring my vision to life.

Rather than going for the "limited run - limited edition" approach, we wanted to give everyone a chance to pick up this piece. NK absolutely outdid themselves here, and I am stoked to say that anyone who wants to add this Spydiechef to their collection can do so easily. As always, thank you for supporting both me and Northern Knives. Without the support of all of you, I would never be able to see these dreams of mine come to fruition.

We are doing this as one large offering “Mass Drop Style”.Starting June 1st we will be taking en mass orders (full retail price deposit). Ordering will end June 16th. We will order all the materials needed on the end date and start the customization. All orders will be processed and shipped by July 3rd.
